The operating principle of the air-cooled air cooler is vapor compact refrigeration, that is, the principle of heat absorption when the liquid refrigerant is vaporized and heat release when the steam condenses is used for refrigeration. Therefore, it is an endothermic process, and the temperature at which the liquid refrigerant is vaporized is called the evaporation temperature, and condensation refers to the cooling of steam to equal to or below the saturation temperature, so that the steam is converted into a liquid state.

Refrigerant R22 is evaporated by a compactor when it passes through the surface of the low-pressure evaporator, taking away a lot of heat and refrigerating at the same time. Therefore, the evaporator will generally be placed in the water tank or shell tube. This is also known as coiled and tube evaporators as well as shell-and-tube evaporators. Proper use and protection of industrial chillers helps to ensure that the machine runs usefully.
